Schnappschuß-Objektiv für die Standard-Leica, nicht gekuppelt.」

Summary (English)

The Leica Elmar 35mm f/4.5 appears only twice in the Leica catalogues currently examined by the author, both in German-language catalogues published in June 1935.

In Liste Photo Nr. 7325 c., the lens is described as “Leitz-Elmar” 3.5 cm f/4.5, a snapshot lens for the Standard Leica, described as “nicht gekuppelt.” The codeword assigned to the lens was Elroo, and the listed price was 40 Reichsmarks.

The same lens also appears in Liste Photo Nr. 7333 b., where it is listed more briefly as “Leitz=Elmar, Schnappschußobjektiv.” The codeword remained Elroo and the price remained unchanged at 40 Reichsmarks.

In Liste Photo Nr. 7325 c., the Elmar 35mm f/4.5 was the least expensive interchangeable lens listed in the catalogue, priced significantly below other Leica lenses of the period.

Based on the catalogues currently examined, these two June 1935 German catalogues are the only confirmed catalogue appearances of the Leica Elmar 35mm f/4.5 in the material reviewed.
